I feel like I put a damper on this thread and would like to apologise. I thought clean/mint 318's / 320's maxed around 4k and 325's around 6.5k but I may be a bit out of touch with exactly how much clean mint condition e30's are really worth. As antil33t said they are worth what someone is willing to pay. I notice this 320i sold for $6k the other day.. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=537217541 Good luck with sale.

my opinion on using kiwi shoe polish for bumpers
lightshine replied to lightshine's topic in Appearance
I don't think I will ever feel comfortable with the idea of painting plastic bumpers I just don't like it. The old simoniz stuff I had had a dye in it and it lasted at least a month. I might look into that wurth stuff. I don't feel anything without a dye will last I have heard the mothers stuff only last a week or two -
my opinion on using kiwi shoe polish for bumpers

who makes that? -
It sucks. I don't see what is so good about it. Maybe I didn't get the right stuff I saw some people had used kiwi leather dye and some had used the instant wax shine. Maybe kiwi are doing some product rebranding when i went to the supermarket they had a bottle that looked like the instant wax shine polish but had new formula on it and was called wax rich color shine this is the one I got. they also had kids scuff black shoe polish by the kiwi brand. Anyway it may be a great shoe polish but for bumpers it sucks. It is liquid but goes tacky on application and if you rub it in it goes streaky. I only did a small but then gave up. before i was using an old bottle of simoniz bumper and trim polish and that stuff was awesome. But i cannot seem to find anyone who sells it in nz? Any other tips or opinions?

thanks for that reply NealDoes the Meguiar's Gold Class Trim Detailer have any sort of dye in it, is it black when you put it on the cloth and rub it in? how long does it last?
-
Does anyone know where to buy simoniz back to black (finished my old bottle from when it was called simoniz black diamond) or 303 aerospace protectant (also finished my old bottle) Also what tyre shine do you use?, how long does the crc wet look spray last. I like the wet look rather than the dull look, I at least want a deep rich black.

Have the option of buying some, just wondering what they are worth?

what is the correct part number for the rear pads of a 1991 e30 320i in the bendix catalogue it says 320 series 1985-1991 320i (e30) i, is Front: db1130 Rear:db1245 in the bosch catalogue it says 320i e30 sep 82 - dec 91 front: db1130 rear: db296 So is it db1245 or db296? or does each brake manufacturer have their own part number all the ones at superchead seem to be db xxxx something

when i saw the first one i thought to my self 'wow a 318is there is only like 20 in the country', but 3 at once? i dont even think i have ever seen one on trademe before

It certainly reads 10.5, that is using a digital multimeter directly onto the battery post, i even disconnected both battery leads and measured the voltage on the post and it was still reading 10.5 volts. The car started afterwards. The in car volt gauge reads about the same so i dont believe my multimeter is at fault.I certainly noticed the starter motor sounded like it was cranking faster after the battery was on the charger and also the battery voltage was reading higher with the car off. But after a few days it was cranking slower and the rest voltage was back down to about 10.5 volts. I dont think the radio cutting out when i step on the breaks is a issue created by a short or a wiring issue i think it is due to the voltage drop when the breaks lights come on. I cleaned up a whole lot of connections a few weeks ago, starter motor, battery terminals, ground strap on sump, ignition coil contacts, i didnt clean the alternator contacts, but the in car volt gauge i put in to monitor the charging voltage while driving always shows 13.5 - 14 volts.

i thought it may be my volt metre but it is not. I have tested my multimeter on various things and am pretty sure its reading correctly. Further to measuring the idle voltage i have been running a voltage gauge temporarily inside the car to make sure the charging voltage is consistent. This voltage gauge also shows about 10.5 volts with the car off. Voltage while driving is roughly 13.5 - 14 volts. I have never had a problem starting it, but it when turning it over it seems a bit struggled compared to after i charged the battery on an external charger and it cranked alot faster. Also the radio frequently shuts off when i put my foot on the brakes if the car is off.
