What is the stud pattern and offset for 17's of a 1996 E36? The Stud patter is 5x120? How about offsets and rim sizes ( for example 17x7, 17x8 and so on )

This car was stock standard around 12 months ago, the car was factorty BMW tan/gold colour. Owner has since purchased mags and has just recently painted car. I don't know owner personally but he works at Westpac with my partner and she does. I very much delt this car is or was stolen. But hey could be wrong. My 10 cents. car is legit and so is owner.

The hack saw became my friend in the weekend I filed back the remains of the jap holder so it does not look to budget if I was ever going to put my craftsmanship on display.

Has anyone purchased mags from ebay.com or overseas , they seem to be quite well price including shipping and the nz exchange rate. There is a really great selection to choose from. I know ebay is a seller by seller bases so not everyone on there is the same or reptuable as each other but I am more concearned about the shipping of the mags. How safe is this, can you get insurance and how much would it cost roughly?

TradeMe is your best bet for a english manual, they are in quite high demand.

E30stz thanks for the offer. I think I will go with the power drill technique at this stage. Cheers guys.

My E36 has one of those disgusting staneless steel jap number plates holders, what do I replace this with if anything? It has to go! I have done the obvious thing and removed the number plate and the staneless steel holder and have found I can not bolt the number plate up without the staneless holder. ( the screw holes on the reg plate do not allign with the factory holes ) Do I need to drill holes in my number plate or is there some sought of other bracket I can use to hold the plate on. Cheers

I ended up getting done a the compliance centre since they were reg and doing the compliance. Car arrived in nz from jap last week. Ended up being $341.29 covering front and rear rotors plus pads on all four cornes. ( all bmw parts ) Plus $40.00 labour. So i feel alot better after the first quote, would have to say the Page Euro quote was over the phone so they would not know what they were dealing with. I think I will still take the card to Page Euro for a service.
-
Does anyone know or have had their front and rear rotors replaced along with pads? I have been quoted around $800.00 to def under $1000.00 by Page European, this includes the above, bleeding, fluids and so on and labour. ( over the phone quote so was not to formal ) Any feedback ?

Hi Andy, thanks for the reply. Did you use the rubber gromments mentioned in the link you provided below, I have got a new badge but have no idea about where to get the gromets from. Did you even use groments or did you use the original ones? Thanks again, Blair.

I have done a search but could not find anything since this is really basic I imagine. My BMW badge on my front bonnet is looking rather worn and has lost the BMW symbol, I have purchased a genuine OEM badge ( so the guy claims ) from trade me which is for the E36. (I have a E36 ) How do I remove the original badge and fit the new one, do I need any specific tools or am I better getting a pannel shop to help? Cheers guys.

I would be very suprise if someone actually purchases this guys steps of trade me for service light reset. So there is no harm in his post. People all have their own views of value in life. What may not be of interest or help to you may be a great help to some alse. His target in a extreme general market would be: Well paid or well off BMW owners who would not even look on Trade Me or even consider doing this, their car will arleady be booked in at their local BMW dealership. People such as yourselves which are mech minded or at least have some konwledge about BMW's and what you can and can't do. Alot of people don't care or even would service the BMW, you must have heard these BMW's drive past at least once a week. Make all types of funny sounds. People who will see his auction and go what the fu$k is the guy on about. He may get the odd silly person who buys in but this would be a small % after mentioning the above groups. In the end, if it works for him great. But I don't think he will be opening a investment let alone a savings account soon. Trade Me was a idea which started off small, so is this but on a smaller scale. Most people fail before they suceed, this is how we learn. So maybe next when he decides to offer step by step instuctions on how to do a oil change he will suceed. :drunk:

Has anyone alse had any problems with these plates?I was looking at the gtgrafix.com website and would quite like one of these plates. You can select the BMW symbol to go in the left corner instead of say the German or Euro symbol. Does anyone think this would be any more risky than having the Euro or German Symbol in the corner?
-
do you mean DTM as a brand - or the style? Sorry, I mean DTM Style mufflers.
-
LNPSBMER thanks for the info. David, the drone or raspy noise you get from some mufflers is what I am concearned about as well, I have had this problem is the past. On my old car which was a Honda Accord SiR I imported a DTM style muffler from Ebay which ended up being a very good price. The muffler looked great but was very loud. I got rid of the muffler and purchased a TRR twin loop muffler from FBI which made a difference straight away. These muffers are not much louder than factory. I would like to go go for a DTM Muffler again but do not want to compromise the sound of my BMW, i.e I don't want it to soud like a honda. So I am kind of at the middle of the road, do you get what you pay for or are these DTM mufflers quite loud. Has anyone got any feed back on their DTM Style Muffler? David from my understanding JASMA is a Japanese testing standard kind of like what the Land and transport set out in NZ. JASMA is not a brand but some sought of standard or spec the muffler has met in japan regarding sound and exhaust fumes emmison, it seems that these JASMA rated mufflers all look the same and are quite commen on WRX' s and EVO's. I think I am right but someone correct if I have lost the plot.

Looks really good. How much was the muffler and do you know if they are available nationwide through Pit Stop. I am half looking for a muffler but have not really spent to much time on looking.
-
Nice constructive comment mate, good to see you were having fun at 5.45am on new years day.
-
Very nice, the body looks very smooth with the new front and the muffler fits in well on the rear. But yes I am sorry about the lights, euro body + rice lights = euro trash! Bin the lights and you will be even more impressed.

If this may be the case also check if the BMW is leaking any oil, also check your power steering fluid as it could be quite low if know ones checked it of recent. If there is oil leaking it would mean the seals have gone on the rack.
