  1. Hi, I've replaced my coolant and while the engine temp seems stable, the heater only runs cold. I fully drained my coolant system from the rad and the block (with heater controls on hot), then flushed it through and replaced with as much coolant as will go in (about 7.5L when Bentley tells me the capacity is around 10.5L). I've bled it cold and then at running temp but seemingly can't get the air out of the heater. The line running to the heater from the block is hot but the return to radiator is cold. The heater solenoids seem to be the highest point in the cooling system but doesn't have a bleed valve I can find. This must be an issue faced on a regular basis so am I just missing something obvious? Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance
  2. They've recently dropped the price for new euro plates to $399.
  3. Mate, if I had the cash I'd be in there. It's a f*#king good ride and handles beautifully!
  4. Hi mate, I'm keen for a pair of the NZ, black ferns - AHE915 I've PM'd you my addy and put the payment through, should be there tomorrow. Cheers mate!
  5. Right, well that seems to be my problem. The switch has only two positions - on/off, 'on' being the rear fogs. I had assumed the fronts would come on then as well. I don't need the rear fogs so is it simply a case of a few wire jumpers or something to switch control to the front ones?
  6. Cheers. Excuse my ignorance but what sort of relay would I need? Is the 2 position switch I have on the dash all good then?
  7. Both sides are identical colours - blue plugs brown and yellow/red stripe, brown and yellow/black stripe. Yeah, I noticed the thermometer(?) plug down there would also fit.
  8. I decided to install spot lights in my 1989 e34 525i as the switch is on the dash and plugs are already wired up in the bumper. I got hold of a pair plugged them in but they didn’t work even with car & regular lights on. Figured there could be corrosion in the plugs from 21 years of hanging under the car so I cleaned them and checked with a multimeter and still nothing. Went back to the fuse box, both fuses are fine (2 and 7 I think) but nothing across them with the multimeter. I checked Bently and couldn't find anything useful. Am now at a loss Is there some enabling or additional wiring I need to do, like getting in and connecting up the switch on the dash? Thanks in advance
  9. Hey I'm after a set of secondhand low springs for my 525i e34. Not after super lows though as our driveway is a little unforgiving I'm running factory shocks on the rear and new munroes on the front. Cheers.
  10. Haha I get ya point Well, I would like to lower it except for the stupidest reason - that I wouldn't be able to get it up my drive. Since I live fairly central and can't park on the street during work hours it's actually an issue. Even the corolla scrapes sometimes. Anyhow the steering is having issues so that's first on my list..
  11. Hi it's Andrew here. Just brought my first Euro - an E34 525i It has around 289000 km on the clock but looking pretty tidy. I plan to fix up the few issues it has and then keep it as my daily driver. Not a lot of mechanical experience (I'm a Civil Engineer by trade) but keen to learn. No doubt I'll be posing some technical questions in the future. I can't get it to upload the snap of my E34 for some reason but made it my profile pic anyway. Cheers.
