Hi guys thanks for all the help with my past questions. hehe I have another one. I have a e30 318i with a m10. i recently did a oil change on my cr and in tha past i always used castrol gtx with half a bootle of moreys. But this time i used Penzoil older engine oil which was 25w 60. Now when the kar is on i get this burnt oil smell but the oil level hasnt dropped even abit. What oil should I use?

hmm i checked the rear shock mounts afew weeks ago they dint look bad. but there was a tiny gap all around the metal tube where the rubber attachs to it.
-
and ill also check the diff bolts.
-
I had the driveshaft out afew months ago to check what was causing this but couldnt find anything. the rubber coupling from, driveshaft to the back of the box was ok. and the universals wer ok. i held both ends of the driveshaft and tried to twist is in opposite directions it did not hav noticeable play. could a worn diff cause this aswell? ill check the half shafts tomorrow. so you guys dont think the sumframe bushes could cause this?

hi guys I have a 86 318i manual that starts to clunk and jerks back and foward when travelling at really slow speeds e.g. in traffic jams. and also somtimes wen downshifting and taking of. the clunking is coming from the rear. Its so bad that it dont feel like driving the car anymore. could worn subframe bushings cause this?
-
Ok cool ill do that aswell thank for your help.
-
Sweet thank you ill try that method you suggested. one more question could this be the cause of the oil pressure light staying on for about 5 - 10 seconds when the car 1st starts?
-
Should I be worried about it? Because im not sure if the motor is worth taking apart again to do the rings. I took it apart 2 years ago while I was doing the head gasket and replaced the big end and main bearings and all gaskets.

Hey guys afew weeks ago I did a compression test on my 318i m10 and it came up with 120psi on all cylinders. is 120 good or bad? the car drives fine and does not burn oil or anything.
-
Thanks again Glenn I changed back to the factory rims and tyres and the viabration is completely gone. Its amazing how bad that tyre was considering it was only 8mths old. Thanks again.

Sweet ill go to mag and turbo today and show them. because they sold me a whole package with all that stuff in it. And what do you think that loose feel is?
-
hubcentric spacers i think. They are plastic rings that slide into the centre of the mag and fit snug on the hub of the vehicle.
-
yeah there is a viabration when it starts to wobble But it doesnt make any noise or anything. And passed its warrent afew months ago. hmmm but ill chek the wheel bearings
-
the brake rotors were machined all around about a year ago when I did the pads. I got told that the loose feeling could be caused by the front strut mounts. has anyone had that problem?
-
When i got the mags i went and bought a set of hub adpaters for them so it shudnt be that. The wobble starts to happen on the motoway at about 110kmph and then it continues after that at lower speeds aswell. And i also changed the steering rack ends a month ago forgot to mention.

Hi guys i have a 1986 318i and when i used to drive it on ruff roads it almost felt like the wheels would fall if it just felt real loose. So i changed the the lower inner and outer balljoints the caster bushings and i checked the swaybar links and bushes they arnt to bad. And now when I drive it on the motorway it has a wobble almost as if the wheels were loose. its been wheel balanced n and aligned new tyres n tha mags arnt bent. Can anyone help me plzz.
