Hi all, About 6 months ago I bought a 2006 e92 335i Auto with 165,000km. Been driving it with no issues, albeit with a misfire every now and then at idle - suspect an intake valve clean is needed. I drove it from Wellington to Auckland with no issues. The issue is that I've noticed it drops a bit of oil which I'm trying to fix. It leaks about a drop or 2 every time it's parked. I've taken all the covers off (multiple times now ?) and given everything a good clean. With everything mostly cleaned, I left it running (idling) for a couple of minutes while on jack stands to see if I could spot any visible sources of the leak. Judging from what I've seen (photos) it looks like it's leaking between the engine and the transmission, which could point to the rear main seal? Doesn't look like the oil pan gasket as I can't see any oil travelling along the pan towards the transmission. The oil pan gasket as well as the valve cover gasket (including the valve cover) was replaced at 150,000km. Oil filter housing gasket was done at 157,000km. All work was done at a BMW dealership. I'll add that to my knowledge, the PCV hasn't been upgraded either. Can't see any oil around the valve cover nor the oil filter housing either Any thoughts? I was hoping it would be something easy to DIY but if it is indeed the RMS, I would have to get someone else to do it Cheers

I've read of some the common issue with these, expansion tank, radiator side tanks, temperature sensor o'ring and dont seem to have any of these problem. There is a tiny little bit of white residue on the expansion tank but it doesnt seem to get bigger yet i still lose maybe 100-200ml over an open road journey of about 50km. I read here that the heater matrix can also be a problem but dont have a coolant smell inside and dont appear to have any water inside either. Ive had a good look around the block and cant see anything obivous. I did take than fan and shroud off and had a good look on the inside of the radiator and it looked clean and dry - should it take it right out and look from the other side? Does anyone have any other suggestions in what to look for? Thanks Very small amount of white staining at top of radiator header tank Header tank stain up close Expansion tank looks fine

Hey Guys, Was hoping that someone might now what the two plugs just above the lower radiator hose are on the engine end of the hose. As its dripping something that could be oil onto it. Im assuming its from one of those plugs if not both. I'm replacing the Radiator and Lower Radiator hose, and since i'll be having that space once its out to work with I'd like to know what they are and then see how easy it is to fix it while the Radiator and hose is out the way. Reason im replacing the hose is due to the oil dripping on it. Ive tried finding it on this site but havent found it yet. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.do?model=DM62&mospid=47544&hg=11 I have attached 2 pictures to try and make it easier to the area im talking about. Thanks in advance for any help on this
