BM WORLD 1283 Report post Posted March 23, 2007 what year is your car , is it M20 or m50 etc . if m20 you could do a 2.7 conversion from a older 525e with your head on it . good for about 190-200hp .. if its m50 type , get a 2.5 or 2.8 . but realy dont waste your time , just sell it and go and buy a 540i 286HP they only cost about $5-8k now . or a good 535i 211hp maybe even a manual one . problem with converting a 520i is that every thing underneth the car like driveshafts, barkes , diff , rear swing arms etc is all smaller ....
