nz320i 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2007 (edited) Soo, at 7:50 this morning i pull out of the drive on my way to work, and just after i turn my ipod on the steering feels heavier than normal, ok ill just see if its sweet after a block or so, I wind down the window and a sound like a bearing stuffed or something, turns out its the power steering pump. Ive disconnected it, is it ok to drive disconnected?? I also have a manual rack out of a pre f/l but what couplings do i need to swap it out? unless someone has a good pump? Already done the shim, i cant have cleaned it properly when i changed the shim..(in the pump) Edited April 3, 2007 by nz320i Chris
Silver Fox 43 Report post Posted April 3, 2007 Yeah, fine to drive disconnected. Manual rack needs the manual connector to the steering column. The knuckle connection at the bottom of the column is longer for the manual rack. They can be a pain in the arse to get.

Carl 3 Report post Posted April 4, 2007 Meh, grow some muscles, plus the disconnected pump will release a few hp
kiwipetrolhead 1 Report post Posted April 5, 2007 Meh, grow some muscles, plus the disconnected pump will release a few hp Yeah, but he'll need really big muscles to make use of all that extra power!
