Andrew 30 Report post Posted May 14, 2007 Hi Guys - I am looking for the fuses on an 97 e39 528i. Found the ones in the boot (near batt) - but surely there are more. The drivers side seat doesn't work (electric) - passengers does. Cheers for any help.
hotwire 352 Report post Posted May 14, 2007 Andrew, open glovebox, fuse compartment along the top - drop down a cover flap, would have thought both seats would be on one circuit but dont know for sure & dont have car here at the minute to check Cheers Grant
Andrew 30 Report post Posted May 14, 2007 Sweet - got it sorted. They are on separate fuses btw. However - it keeps blowing that fuse after a while. Is there a common point on these cars that the wiring wears out and earths or something?
kiwi535 538 Report post Posted May 14, 2007 i would suspect the wiring to the seat itself. The seat moves so must flex the wires, stuff gets caught under seats etc.Have a look and see if there are some bare wires or stressed connections.Sounds like a short circuit, might be in the switch too.
