keen 6 Report post Posted June 1, 2007 If the head gasket has let water into the cylinder and the plugs were removed and the car turned over a few times some oil put down the cylinder and then plugs replaced would you be able to limp home? the car ran well before. but it has been sitting and that is how the gasket problem was noticed. will 169 Report post Posted June 1, 2007 Theoretically you could try but would need to keep a close watch on the water level. Also, depends on how much water may have got into the sump/oil. Too much and you can run bearings. How many cylinders have water in? If the blow is too big, you will just blow all the water out the radiator in a very short time and even blow the radiator if you leave the pressure cap on. I wouldn't do it unless I was really desperate. Rather tow it or trailer it. If it is an auto, you will need to trailer it, or remove the propshaft or you will wreck the gearbox if you tow it too far or at speed..
