m20 mild race motor

Recommended Posts

From my race car.

Am looking at building a more wild M20 for my race car.

I'm looking for a 325 block/head (don't need pistons or crank, just conrods, no over-bore) Head doesn't need cam. Would discount the price if you could supply me an exchange motor.

I'd be looking at $2000 for my motor.

It has been built by Ernst at Bavarian - 2.3 ltr head on pre-fl 2.5 block. Lightened crank, conrods - fully balanced. Head totally rebuilt including new cam. New everything basically.

Rev-limiter has never been set higher than 6800 RPM and engine has never been money shifted. Can be seen running in the car.

Has done approx 8000 kms since built.

Looking to sell as I'm building a 3.1 ltr m20 for the open class.

Motor has 185 rwhp*

*measured on Bob Homewood's dyno

* with Link ECU, custom headers, custom intake, ford 5 ltr fuel injectors

Well - I'm building a 3.1 ltr M20 so I need my Link, Headers and intake stuff. I'll also want my fuel injectors. I'll probably want my dizzy and stuff like that also as it's all new.

To get it going you'd want -

Injectors, ECU (You can get VERY cheap Link LEM V5s). Obviously my tune will work on it fine and only need minimal amount of tweaking.

Andrew,

Where are you getting your 3.1 ltr. I'm looking at a similar upgrade. Do you know where I can get hold of a M52 2.8 crank.

Are some our you Auckalnd blokes coming down to Mainfield on 22 July.

bmw2002.com [ireland Engineering] - let me know if you do order. Pistons back in stock in 3 weeks or so. If you do get it from them we could save a bit on shipping.
