aenima 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2007 Hi all, just wanting to know if my bmw has pulled a biggie on me. Today I'm driving along and out of nowhere I hear loud noise come from the engine, I look in my rear view mirror and see all this smoke. I pull over and open my bonnet and see snapped belt all intwigned around my alternator, fan etc. Not sure if it was wise but I very cautiously limped home with about 2 kms to go. My battery started to drain and the light came on (alternator busted), I had no power steering, and also my car started to overheat. Is this going to be a major to get fixed? pureboiracer 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2007 well uve stuffed your altinator so that will need replacing. possibly replace fan aswell. and im gessing your waterpump did not work with no belt. depending on how much you overheated it it could be between 200/300 or up to as much as 1200 or so Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
