I have a 93 bmw 525i with an m50b25 engine and its, apparently, a jap imort so it comes with a JATCO 5-speed auto trans (JR502e) w/ a flare on 2-3 gear.. Im thinking about replacing it with another trans so here comes the question... If i am to replace it with a ZF 5hp18, would it be just a simple take-off-the-old-one-put-the-new-one-in thingy? or do i have to change some ECUs and other "computer stuff" that i dont know of.. So would you prefer to just replace it with a JATCO JR502e or a ZF 5hp18?...THANX Tristan PS I'm quite new to the bimmer scene so if im incorrect on codes, please correct me... =) Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
