Driftit 2078 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 Why did we have a Saffa ref? How long till the conspiracy books come out on him. Sent off for getting in the way. Missed two vital forward french passes when he was in PRIME possition to see them. All Blacks played like sh*t though.

Grant 4 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 The ref was Irish. A 20 something ex-lawyer. Lets hope it is the last game he ref's. His decisions were terrible, he had no grasp of the off side line (but to be fair he wasn't helped by the touch judges), and his sending off of McAllister was a shocker. However the French muscled up well, didn't allow any penetration by the AB backs (especially the back three), and defended extremely well. The AB's seemed to lack any decent attacking options, apart from McAllister for a brief period, and resulted in trying to just rumble it up, and relied too heavily on picking and going. Oh well ooks like we can look forward to a France v SA final. Cheers Grant
Grant 4 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 I take that back, the ref was English...that explains it.
m_power 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 All Blacks didnt play at there best, French werent particualy good either but when given the oppertunity they used it, also helped seen as the french had 16 players- the 16th being the ref.

Driftit 2078 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 Ah sorry I was thinking Saffa's will now win but was meant to type Pom ref. He was right in line to see that forward pass. He ether missed it on purpose. Or was checking out a french guys ass. One or the other.
bmw.maniac 1 Report post Posted October 7, 2007 I just don't see how that referee and two touch judges missed that forward pass! It defys belief. As a Rugby player myself, i'm actually surprised the ABs didn't kick up a huge stink because of it.

Braeden320 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2007 Absolutly gutted. I don't want to blame the ref but i thought some of his calls were very avarage to put it nicely. Be great to see fiji beat Sth Africa to add to the upsets

bmw.maniac 1 Report post Posted October 7, 2007 (edited) Looks like those little black flags didn't do much to help after all. Haha I saw heaps of them on cars this morning, I felt like taping my huge french flag onto my bonnet and driving around town with it on. But then I though my car would get attacked by a depressed drunk Edited October 7, 2007 by Eddy
