Mark 178 Report post Posted October 23, 2007 I'm no expert but it just looks too good to be true. Considering you pay $1200 plus for a properly tuned chip from places like superchips.co.nz. Also, US spec cars differ from the rest of the world so they may not actually work. P.S: This guy also sells Pubic hair trimmer sets..... enough said! Yuen 16 Report post Posted October 23, 2007 How do US cars differ from the rest of the world? I can only think of fuel type, and the fact that they don't get the Euro M3. The chip could work - simple enough to copy a chip and just sell it for cheaper. The majority of costs you pay for a chip is for the software. Would be a risk though seeing as you don't know its source.
Mark 178 Report post Posted October 23, 2007 They have very strict emission controls in the USA (esp California) so they have different exhaust systems and engine tunings I believe.
Yuen 16 Report post Posted October 23, 2007 I believe the stock exhaust systems (eg: E36 325i here vs 325i there) are usually the same with the US E60 M5 being the exception.
