Guest Simon* Report post Posted February 1, 2008 Splashed out on some new feet for the 540 Some of you might have seen these going on TM - I know Martyn did at least Have always wanted a set of Alpinas and 18" at a reasonable price I just got silly with the Accept fixed price offer button! I might need a favour from one of you Auckland brothers at some stage - don't worry, not to pay for them!

Do they have good rubber? What type of tyre?

Cheers Boris They will add a little class compared to those aftermarket Beyerns won't they. Unsure as to tyre type, but overall condition is apparently good. If you need them picked up let me know, unless the onr wants to drop them off here for shipping etc. If you need tyres i would recommend Goodyear Eagle F1. Fantastic tyres for the $$$, all 4 cnrs on my car(17") $1000. Edited February 1, 2008 by mr E34

I am just replacing F1's on the car now but to be honest I've found them a little soft wearing

martyyn 2 Report post Posted February 1, 2008 You bastard. Ive been watching them for three months and after intially wanting 3500 for them he finally comes to a decent price. Just as I saw the offer come up, my phone rang and before I could get them off the phone you'd taken the offer. You do know that they are going to require spacers etc to fit on the e34 and that the front tyres are the wrong size for them eh ?

And to be fair if it all gets too hard or my Bank manager disowns me I promise I'll give you first right of refusal, ok? I know yes spacers and yes yes to the rest but they're Alpinas! I'll make it work Sorry again - but I can't keep the silly grin off my face

cainchapman 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2008 (edited) I might be able to help you there Simon. I might be able to get them to Ohakea from Whenuapai. Collect them from Ohakea and drive them across with me in my rental when I come down later this month. As I'm picking that they are a little heavy for me to bring as stowed baggage. Nice wheels too. Still not Turbines though! Edited February 1, 2008 by Cain
Guest Simon* Report post Posted February 1, 2008 Cheers Cain That might work brilliantly. We can talk. No not turbines (they're on my list too), but still a bit more "BMW" than what I'm running now. I do actually have a turbine II on the car now as I had to borrow the spare from Grant's (old_skool) M5 because I am running out of spares while my tyres turn up today! But it's the turbine sans cover - just the dish and black alloy centre.
bradc 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2008 Awesome Can't wait to see pics. My turbines will be off my car soon, they are nice and all, but 17's just look too small on an 8, they really do!
Guest Simon* Report post Posted February 3, 2008 Awesome Can't wait to see pics. My turbines will be off my car soon, they are nice and all, but 17's just look too small on an 8, they really do! Are you going to sell the turbines Brad?
bradc 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2008 you know, I really can't answer that. I really want M6 wheels or Style 126 wheels, and selling the wheels would get me quite a bit of money - remember these are the ultimate turbines, 17x8 10mm and 17x9 19mm. But I do kind of want to keep them as winter wheels or whatever and obviously they are very light and strong. Hmmmmm I really don't know.
