Braeden320 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2007 Pretty hard to put a price on cars as they are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them on any givin day.
jpp 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2007 Car (A) I have no idea. Depends on the buyer's intentions... Car (, if one was to do such work you're doing, could be just as easy to find another car (shell) that is straight (plenty around). The engine and transmission (complete) could fetch YOU $1,200 - $1800+. But in saying that, you could get a similar price with a car of higher kms... Working to a budget, I wouldn't buy that car. With no budget, just buy it...
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted November 24, 2007 There is no budget on the E30 project....I wanted to start with a mint car and go from there Theres plenty of info in here and others have been down this path before The only help I need is finding the right people or person who can do the ECU to run the motor My preference is a M54 twin Vanos motor 2.8 or 3.0 Litre with manual gearbox ( if I can find one ) If not I'll use a M52B28 like I did with the compact Cheers Glenn
Gus 5 Report post Posted November 24, 2007 starting off with a mint shell is the best idea, as long as you happy with a four door. money wise, i would pay 3-4K for a really nice straight car, even a 318. from what i have heard, the m52 would be the better option...not hard to tune it up to similiar sort of power and MUCH easier to wire in than the m54. could be wrong though. let me know if you have trouble getting a manual box, there a loads over here that arent too expensive. shipping shouldnt be too bad either. project sounds great...you could just keep the 36 compact and work on that? would be easier to get brakes for (already 5 lug), just need a manual swap really and more power! haha cant believe i am advising not an e30! keep us updated. would be interested to see what your car is worth, as i have no idea....have trouble even speculating!
