535er 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2007 I own an E34 535, just had to get a new diff housing as the axle sheared from the diff, ripping the diff from its housing & mounts. Checked the internals for cracks or chipped teeth, all appeared ok. Had the diff in for roughly two weeks now, having more problems!!! Every time the trans chops down a gear, the diff makes a banging sound, even when I put it into drive, what could it be??? Obviously the axle shearing from the diff has done some damage of some kind, I'm hoping it is repairable Could someone let me know of what this could be, cheers!
