Andrew 30 Report post Posted January 8, 2008 Mercedes-Benz Cars sales rose 2.0 percent in 2007 for a record 1.29 million units. Sales were driven by the new 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class and SUVs. Daimler sold 261,500 units of the new 2008 Mercedes C-Class in all of 2007, up 57 percent. Sales of Mercedes-Benz SUVs rose 6 percent to 180,100 units In 2007 we succeeded in laying the groundwork for sustainable, profitable growth, particularly with the market launches of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the new Smart ForTwo,†CEO Dieter Zetsche said. Sales of the Mercedes-Benz brand alone advanced 3.2 percent to nearly 1.19 million units. Sales at its Smart brand fell 10.3 percent to 100,600 units, while Maybach sales remained steady around 400 cars.
