ED1RTY 2 Report post Posted January 11, 2008 Word. It really sucks, he did so much in his life, I remember doing an assignment on his life in 5th form. He also lived in Papakura where I live, hell theres even a school ~500m from where I live that is named after him.. He never recovered from the altitude sickness he had when he climbed everest, been hindering him for a while id say. RIP.

ThreeOneEight 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2008 A state funeral for him seems like much better value than Eden Park. At least we can say he's gone to the one place higher than Mt Everest.

Creaver 55 Report post Posted January 11, 2008 He was the only living person to be on our notes. I doubt the note will be replaced after the things he did to put NZ on the map. RIP.
