Huttey 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 Does anyone know how to tell what suspension a 1999 E39 540 has, my car is a Jap import and has some sports package bit and peices - Black around the windows, heated sports seats, 3 spoke M steering wheel, 17" wheels but can't tell whether it has sports suspension or any other bits and pieces. Can anyone help ? Also does anyone know if you can get a build sheet for Jap import through BMW NZ ? Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
kiwi535 538 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 if you give the vin to them they should be able to give it to you...they are are a bit reluctant thogh.The build sheet will show if it has sports suspension.There is also a way to measure it >your car should also sit a bit lower than non m spec cars,but a hell of a lot of 540s seem to be m spec cars... NZ POM 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2008 the build sheet will be under the rear seat swab stapled to the underside of the swab, just pull the swab out and have a look, i have a hard copy of build sheet codes so if you find it post back and i'll tell you what the codes mean.
