E39 M5 still quite dear...more complex than the e34 too. Attach a vbox and try and do those times, i doubt it. PWR figures are misleading, those are bench dyno figures with special BLUEPRINTED engines built for the test. NO ancilliaries connected, production engines within 5%, take off 15hp give or take, add on pwr steer, alternator, production exhaust system etc etc. The times seem close to contempory magazine tests for example the ones here seem to average about 6.5s for the 3.6 M5, although Autocar UK were quicker than the above times for both types of M5. ashmill 68 Report post Posted March 17, 2008 The times for the 3.6 E34 M5 are correct as road tested. Trust me. As for the car being average in the performance stakes - find me a comparable 18 year old car that performs like it. Yes the average new V8 Commatruck and Falcoon will see it off but at least my old girl feels like a real car. The engineering is incredible - 243kms and it runs really strong.
