curryinahurry 39 Report post Posted March 18, 2008 (edited) Hi guys, one of my friends auto e36 is having problem starting. When you turn the key, you can hear a whirring noise but the engine doenst seem to crank. After a few more tries, you can get it to start. I am thinking perhaps its the solenoid on the starter motor thats malfunctioning. What do you guys think? Also, any idea how much it would cost to get it fixed? I would be keen to give it a go myself if it isn't too difficult. Thanks! Edited March 18, 2008 by curryinahurry
hotwire 352 Report post Posted March 18, 2008 Sounds like a slipping clutch in the starter - in not familiar with then probably not a DIY - best see an auto sparky
