rsu 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2008 Hi all, I am a newbie here. My car is a e46 1998, last time when i went to WOF about 2 months ago the guy at VTNZ told me there was a massive engine oil leak. Recently i noticed several times there was smokes coming out under the engine hood, the smoke is not heavy, white color and usually last for about 10 seconds. The car is normal except the smoking. I suspected the smoke is caused by engine oil leaked into the hot exhaust pipe. When i open the hood i can actually see there are quite a few oil marks on the engine, and there are many oil marks on the garage floor too. I think it is time to replace the gasket seal? Can anyone help me with: 1, normally how much does it cost to replace the gasket seal and fix the oil leaking problem? 2, is the smoking likely to be caused by oil leaking? 3, can any one recommend a place to replace the gasket seal? i live in eastern auckland. Thank you very much!
