Carl 3 Report post Posted July 6, 2004 17" are mad on E30's, got any pics of the mags???
petone 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2004 Whats the offest? if its 40mm the Trophies will not fit without spacers. They clear the strut but don't clear the front brake caliper. I know this becuase i test fitted some just a week ago.
crobmw 0 Report post Posted July 6, 2004 offset is 7.5 (am pretty sure). But I think you're wrong about needing spacers as the mags were purchased brand new from Mag and turbo and I think those guys knew what they are on about when they told me these are perfect fit for E30's as they don't stick out / no need for guard rolling or spacers. They also come with rings shaped to fit the little bubble sticking out on the drum and make the mags sit properly on the car.

I know this becuase i test fitted some just a week ago. I tried unsucessfully fititng 17"'s on my e30 today. 4x100 stud pattern with offset 40. Back fitment seemed ok, but it didnt seem right on the front, the caliper was touching also. So yeah i had a similar experience? what did you end up doing? supes 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2004 Does anyone know for a fact what the correct offset for an e30 is? After my experience today, i can tell you that an offset of 40 isn't right.
Carl 3 Report post Posted July 11, 2004 (edited) I'm running 20 with 7.5's EDITED: In fact, you cn see by my sig pic that with 205's they only just snuggle under the arches Edited July 11, 2004 by ///Carl
petone 0 Report post Posted July 11, 2004 I never got them, was going to be too much hassle. The proper offset is ET35 (thats what it says on my spare anyway). Some 17's will fit if they are ET40, I have also test fitted some advanti mikano's (I think thats what they were) and they fitted fine, it will just come down to the shape of the wheel as to whether they clear the caliper or not. Also you should be able to run 215/40/17, I wouldnt go 215/45 cos the tires are too big. Also 17's look wicked but i would prefer to be driving on 16's. The ride is better, easier on suspension and its a bit easier to control when you slide. (I have been told this)
