brake lights

Recommended Posts

hey guys

just doing the last touch up before my 325 motor goes in

brake lights are always on ?

the brake lines are empty and i havent bled them, can that cause the lights to be on ?

or would it be a relay problem ?

what about a wire earthing out?

cheers

I would fill your braking system and bleed it first, then if there is still a problem, tackle it from there. Is your brake pedal fully up when your lights on on?

I'm going to assume its an e30 your talking about, and can almost be certain that the brake light sensor is the problem, (the one above the brake pedal) just adjust it, common problem.

Bleed the brakes because its good to do it anyway.

Yep, if you mean rear lights then will be this switch, could also be faulty, if the later version switch then could also be adjustment as said

um, when it stops raining ill start fiddling round with things, cause its pouring

but how bout this, i was putting some relays in, matching up my 325 relays and putting them in the 320 (e30's)

is it possible that putting a relay in, when its not supposed to be there, it could make the brake lights always go.

im assuming theres probably not supposed to be a brake light relay.

correct ? shouldnt really need a relay?
