odometer works when it feels like it

hi

ever since i brought my e30 the odometer has never worked,so i replace it with a 2nd hand unit,it worked for the 1st 500km's or so perfectly,but now only works when it feels like it.everything else seems to work and the service light have been reset and lights have stay out,ive read some of the other forums on here about simular problems,and have tried different things with no luck.if someone has any idea please share

Get an instrument repairer to fix the odometer

My fuel gauge wasn't working, at one point the gauge read full but the light was on... go figure.

Sent the whole cluster away to be repaired and now it works perfectly.
