bradc 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2008 lol, read about that a little while ago. I think that Cain is right I wonder if there are radar guns used in the middle east at all, maybe that explains some of the fatalities?

Guest Simon* Report post Posted May 22, 2008 (edited) This is an old urban legend but still a good one It's let down a little by the fact that the sidewinder is an infra-red heat seeking air to air missile, and there aren't any automatically launched anti-radar protection systems on NATO aircraft AND ..... the Netherlands don't operate the Tornado. Never have It was built jointly operated by the Brits, Germans and Italians and later picked up by the Saudis. So it's a commendable effort but sadly lacking a lot of truth. Truer though is that the RNZAF Skyhawks operating around the central plateau used to try and find traffic cops on the desert road and boresight their radars on them to try and fry the electronics or at least give them cancer Edited May 22, 2008 by Simon*
