Cylinder head check/drivetrain weilding

Hi Guys

just got some prices to get my cylinder head checked for Cracks etc, is arround the 300 normally , cause i kinda pisses me off cause thats more cash on my 2.8l engine just so i can drive it round to my engine is rebuilt.

also has anyone had there drivetrain rebalanced as well cause gota get teh coupling welded on for the new gearbox

The local engine rebuilders tested my old head for cracks, and found them, for 20 or 30 bucks..
