Braeden320 0 Report post Posted July 15, 2008 (edited) Hi Guys - 1997 E36 323i Went to Masterton for work yesterday and came home late last night, filled up before I left masterton and used quarter of a tank getting home. Hopped in the car early this morning and drove to Sanson, with a three quarter full tank. Switched off the car and went into shell to grab a drink. Came out started her up looked at the gauges and the fuel gauge was right down and the light was on. Any Ideas on what it could be? The rest of the dash works sweet and check control is ok.. Maybe Fuel Gauge Sender? Appreciate any advice, Cheers E: Fail Spelling Edited July 15, 2008 by braeden.

*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted July 16, 2008 It will be a broken wire on one of the sender units in the tank...its normally the sender unit on the fuel pump, under the rear seat, drivers side. We normaly just rewire them & the fuel pump at the same time with new wire. If in doubt, get a professional to fix it for you
Braeden320 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2008 Cheers Glenn, I'll probably just take it to Peter Beck who does alot of european cars. Rather get it fixed by an expert than do it myself.
