Andrew 30 Report post Posted August 6, 2008 The new ALPINA BMW D3 Bi-Turbo Coupe is now officially on sale in the UK ready to rival its competitors with its outstanding power-to-weight ratio - for a diesel. Based on the BMW 3-Series Coupe, ALPINA engineers have taken the twin-turbo diesel engine from the 123d and increase its power 214-hp with the ability to supply a power-to-weight ratio of 146-hp per tonne (which matches the 330d Coupe). That gives the ALPINA BMW D3 Bi-Turbo Coupe the ability to go from 0-62mph in 6.9 seconds with a top speed of 152mph. Fuel-economy comes in at 44mpg for the manual version and 42mpg for the automatic. Pricing for the ALPINA BMW D3 Bi-Turbo starts at £32,950 ($62,418 USD) for the manual and at £34,540 ($67,375 USD) for the automatic.
