final drive ratio

have a f/l e30 has a 2.5 motor and 5 speed what is the highes ratio poable to fit and the avalibilty of the diff and help would be nice please

i have a 3.64 medium case for a e30 325i . but i also have a 3.15 raito medium case e34 diff . you can remove teh gears and fit them to a e30 case .

also have 3.25 and 3.46 ratio's from old e28 etc same story.

the above are all open diffs, LSD's are another story.

the E28 diffs fit, you need to change the back plate and output shafts, 5 mins work.

A lot of cars have had diff changes, so you can find different ratios across the range now.

Look around the wreckers, including Pickapart, and Hellbm on here, and keep an eye on trademe, they turn up regularly. Should have known Brent would have some too.
