alano 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2008 My drivers seat is playing up. The back slips reclining the seat on the transmission side. I hav the back off the seat but see much. Do i remove the bar which holds the motor and that runs across the back of the seat. in doing this will it give me access to the cogs on the inside of the seat? kiwi535 538 Report post Posted August 25, 2008 search bmw forums for "seat twist".One of your drive cables has prolly come out of the motor or gear..the housings "stretch" and eventually pull the cable out.Fix is to shorten the cable housing at one end so cable engages again.I presume the motors work...ie make a noise

wms 1 Report post Posted September 4, 2008 Itll be the cables - always play up on E32/E34s - check - http://www.nmia.com/~dgnrg/page_11.htm - for a fix or just stuff them in the hole as much as you can.
