Help guys!!!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. I own 2001 BMW 520i tiptronic. It only done 74km and now it has major prob..... When I start the car and put the gear in Drive, it wouldn't go forward and the computer shows the message of "Transmission Failure"..... I have taken it to BMW shop in New Market and they told me I have to change the whole Transmission... I have taken it to local shop and got the torque converter, all the transmission related hoses, auto transmission oil pump, synthetic trans fluid, transmission oil filter and friction(Clutch) which costed me over $1500... but on the way back home, the same problem happened again..... Anyone know what is wrong with my car??? thanks!

I could have a look, but thats not going to really help

Someone has carried out a repair, and there is still something wrong. It would really need to be taken back to them to sort out.

I would suggest 520Motorsport give me call

AND PLEASE GIVE THE REPAIRER A FAIR GO.... no naming names please

REMEMBER>>>> We are only "human" and things can go wrong

Thanks for that. I will see how it goes as the repairer said he will get back to me on Monday. The problem is that he is keep changing his words on which part to change...... He is basically trying to convince me to change the whole engine+gearbox. Thanks anyway Much appreciated.

I have similar problems with my Transmission. Nobody of the so collaed 'Specialists' is able to say where the problem is. Even the BMW here in W... is not able to identify the faulty part.

The problem is that as soon as the car is from 2000 and on, nobody seems to have experience with these high tech cars. That's the problem.

So I would recommend buyingt either an older model or a brand new one, where you have a guarentee with it.

do u have the fault code that the car showed?does the engine have a missfire on start-up-then this could be the fault.eg...if the horse has a limp then the cart will have a limp!!
