jjs 64 Report post Posted September 28, 2008 The drivers door on my E36 coupe is not opening from the outside. It started off as an intermittent problem, but now won't work at all. The door can still be opened from the inside with no problems. It feels like the handle is connected to nothing. Has anyone had a similar problem / have an indication of what the problem could be? Thanks in advance.
pureboiracer 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2008 you will need to do the following. 1 remove the interior door panel so you can see inside the door. 2 have a look around and make sure all rods are connected and no clips are broken. also make sure any cables are conected and secured. 3 if all is connected pull on the outside handel while watching the rods attached to it and make sure they move apropriatly with the handle. 4 if all above is ok. shut the door lock with door open using a screw driver or something. and then pull the handle and see if it unlocks. 5 if all above fails you will probably need a new lock unit
