pureboiracer 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 got a e46. 2002, has factory head unit with cd stacker in boot. has components in the front and a 10" free to air sub in the back speaker shelf. there were 2 lanzar ampd built into the back of the back seat when i got it. wich sounded poo. so i ripped them out and replaced with my 4ch panasonic amp. sounds heaps better but not enough. what can i do to get a better sound and a louder sound? and what would be the first things to change? Five Star 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2008 Do you want to keep the factory head unit? I've got no idea how hard it is to change HU's with this model. We can't help much without a given budget or knowing what the current components are. Is the current amp using RCA plugs, a LOC or speaker inputs? Apex 693 Report post Posted October 7, 2008 and what would be the first things to change? Throw away anything factory for starters.. I’d start with a decent head unit. My old lady had a E46 fitted with a sterio called the Business… it ait the business, its sh*t
