Markq 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2008 Hi. I have a 325i (E36) at the moment and need to replace the rear tyres. It has 17" Motorsport wheels 8" on front with 225 45 17 tyres and 9" on the rear with 245 40 17. I thing the rear should be the same profile however also feel that 245 is a bit wide for the car. My question is..... Will 235/45/17 fit 9" rims?? PS: Im gonna sell this car if anyone is interested....... Will post a link.
zenetti 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2008 245/40/17 is the correct OE size tyre for the rear, and 225/45/17 is also th correct OE size for the front of your staggered motorsport wheels. IE, don't change them

bravo 35 Report post Posted December 4, 2008 (edited) Profile is a percentage/ratio of the width. A 50 profile means the height of the tire sidewall is 50% of the width. If you did want a 235, then 40 would still be a closer match than 45 profile, but both would be legal. Edited December 4, 2008 by bravo
