Quick Question

Recommended Posts

I am thinking of getting some race slicks for the track but they require a minimum of 8" width mags.

My question is how can I determine what width my mags are?

I have two sets, one set is the factory E36 M3 mags and another are the 17" BBS CH's.

I have looked at both and could not find any numbers resembling mag width anywhere, if someone could enlighten me I would be very much appreciative!

measure from the inside of one bead to the inside of the other bead on your wheel, this will give you the width

Hmm BBS says "81/2J" not sure what thats supposed to mean...

I measured "bead to bead" on the stock mags and it's 21.5 cm approx 8.5 inch?

So seems like I could be in the clear.

8 1/2J = 8.5"

lol, doh.

Of course, no idea why I read that as 81...

Righto, thats sorted then.
