bimmer boy 21 Report post Posted September 21, 2004 had a brilliant idea today well i think it is, on thursday when i get my car back from its service etc i gotta start on fixing a few rust spots and my mate is a panel beater so im getting it done for pretty much free and i saw a little rust spot forming under the rubbing strip so i thought how cool would it be if i took them off and had smooth doors! so i did some investigating a picture of ollies car to show you what my rubbing stips are like so you know wat i mean

petone 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2004 I reckon those strips have saved my doors from so many bumps and scratches... Still if you wanna do it i reckon it would look quite good.

Carl 3 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 (edited) I'm going to have to get some panel beating with my car since my old g/box slid in the boot and created a mound in the side wall and cracked my paint Since it needs a respray i'm wondering what it'll cost to get the front and rear bumpers sprayed along with the wingmirrors...so while i'm at it what about the side bumpers aswell instead of taking them off... EDITED: Door handles aswell...$$$ Edited September 22, 2004 by ///Carl
petone 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 what about adding door handles to that list?
318is 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2004 (edited) Just my opinion, but the lack of door strips, at a glance, makes it look "nissan-ish" Like all new things, it will look different till you adjust to it. Edited September 22, 2004 by 318is

aliluya 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2004 I think the car actually looks better with that strip .. so i'd say leave it .. maybe just paint it the same colour or something ... but i prefer it the way it is now ..
bimmer boy 21 Report post Posted September 27, 2004 thanks for the help guys and taken on board what everyone has said and decided to leave them on due to the fact i dont want to have to paint all my doors and front fenders after doing it so im just gunna get those little rust spot fixed and leave it as that cheers
