REMEMBER the GOOD OL' DAYS when SEX WAS SAFE and RACIN' WAS DA

You have to check this out [ rallying 23 years ago ] They had a different sort of crowd control back then!

The nearest thing to this in New Zealand is at the Whangamata "beach hop" when some pissed idiot does a burnout into the crowd

Ha so whose fault is it when one of them gets hit? Or in the case here where a whole bunch do.

Those rally drivers must have been extremely confident in their driving ability, and the spectators must have been even more!

The Sad thing is all the politically correct F**kwits banned Group B Rally [ when the Video is quite clear at showing where the problem is ]

"Ban Low Performance Drivers, ......Not High Performance Cars"

Bit ridiculas they didn't have some sort of crowd control, why ban the rally when they could put barriers etc up.

Crowd deaths were far from the only contributing factor though - see in particular Henri Toivonen. Rather sad, but still a shame they couldn't find a middle ground.

Current WRCs are meant to be at least as fast due to superior turbo charging, better tyres, suspension etc.
