martyyn 2 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 So Ive finally got around the charging the battery today but before I thought about it I shut the tailgate after removing the battery. Now I cant open it again To save me having to get over the back seats to put the battery back in again does anyone know if it can be opened from the outside ? The tailgate has the soft close function so Im assuming not.
martyyn 2 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 Think Ive found it already. Get into the boot open the two side panels, open the tool kit panel and pull the two plugs and it should be released. Sorted
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 (edited) Hook the battery up to the emergency start terminals in the engine compartment and just open it normally BTW: You cant charge a calcium battery properly with a normal battery charger Edited February 13, 2009 by *Glenn*
martyyn 2 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 Hook the battery up to the emergency start terminals in the engine compartment and just open it normally That would save me clambering into the back !BTW: You cant charge a calcium battery properly with a normal battery chargerIt written on the side that its a lead battery. I was told I could do it with a regular battery charger from Repco.

martyyn 2 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 It should have a Din65 0r Din85 Calcium batteryIt says DIN85ZL but doesnt mention calcium on it anywhere. But does clearly state that its a lead battery.

If you cant put water in it and it has a charge indicator on it ...its a calcium battery
