i would imagine factory kitted cars would have taken steps to reduce this....rubber weather proofing and the like..that looks nasty

I imagine that would be a car driven on salty roads also. I don't think we'd have that issue here.

Fullspec m-tech II with alpinas and light washers = import.(prob English)

The amount of salt that goes onto English roads would kill any kit that old, not a specific m-tec II problem.

I have seen the whole underside rusting out of an English import m325i

That my friend is a Euro thing. Since getting here froom Japan, my car has started rusting very bad. Winters here are harsh and we're talking Sardinia. :banghead:
