R90S 2 Report post Posted February 24, 2009 Obviously lol... but i mean wether he was taken out or just simply fell off hah The guy involved is quite a skilled and experienced rider. A tree fell directly in front of him on a wet road, with no possible means of avoiding it. He was in hospital with moderate injuries for a few weeks IIRC. Potentially fatal, given that a split second delay would have caused the tree to crush him instead of the bike. . . .

Guest Simon* Report post Posted February 24, 2009 The guy involved is quite a skilled and experienced rider. A tree fell directly in front of him on a wet road, with no possible means of avoiding it. He was in hospital with moderate injuries for a few weeks IIRC. Potentially fatal, given that a split second delay would have caused the tree to crush him instead of the bike. . . . There was a convoy of four bikes being moved and the senior guy insisted they all wear their stab-proof vests in accordance with regs even though the guys find them hot and cumbersome while riding. After his accident the cop in question actually credited the vest with saving him from way more severe injuries. There was a write-up about it somewhere, might have been on stuff.co.nz
