Guest FrantiC Report post Posted February 25, 2009 Hmm well my 2.7 build is only about 3 or 4 weeks old, where the intake manifold and AFM, TB and elbow were all clean etc. Just today I pulled the AFM and airbox to swap the alternator and there is ALOT of oil dribbling down into the AFM from the elbow. And lately I have had abit of blue smoke out the back when revving. I was thinking probably the head was in need in a rebuild. but now I know its more likely from all this oil residing in the intake system. What causes too much oil? Silver Fox 43 Report post Posted February 25, 2009 Would guess worn valve stems and guide seals?
bravo 35 Report post Posted February 25, 2009 +1 Would have been my first guess too. Can be caused by other things, but this is most common.
Guest FrantiC Report post Posted February 25, 2009 I had a look at it before I put it on and it looked fine, All the valves were nice and snug. there was one getting abit loose and was easy to turn around which worried me but I thought it was well enough to skip a rebuild for the head. Ahh well serves me right for being a half ass.
