Locked out!

Recommended Posts

Help.

My e28 525e has decided to lock me out of the boot.

The central locking is still working - I can hear and feel it 'locking and unlocking' but it's obviously lost a connection between that and the mechanism that actually opens the damn thing.

Is there a secret hidden way to get back into the boot and then figure out what is going on?

Otherwise best suggestion for my next move? Locksmith? BMW dealer?

Please please help - my cell phone is in there!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers

a cheapish way is to smash through a tail light .

i have spares . and if you want to come over and check a parts car as to what you need to do that ok .

021433600.

or drill the lock out until you can grab the wire , but i think the tail light is easier and cheaper to replace

Thanks,

I actually have a spare tail light, but what to do then? Do I just reach in and fumble around with the latch mechanism?

Cheers

yes you will have to grab the little rod that goes from the lock to the relay .

but maybe that wont help if its the barrol that is the problem , better have a good look at a working one before doing it . i have a parts car if you want to check it ,
