bekker 7 Report post Posted March 3, 2009 Help. My e28 525e has decided to lock me out of the boot. The central locking is still working - I can hear and feel it 'locking and unlocking' but it's obviously lost a connection between that and the mechanism that actually opens the damn thing. Is there a secret hidden way to get back into the boot and then figure out what is going on? Otherwise best suggestion for my next move? Locksmith? BMW dealer? Please please help - my cell phone is in there!!!!!!!!!! Cheers
BM WORLD 1283 Report post Posted March 3, 2009 a cheapish way is to smash through a tail light . i have spares . and if you want to come over and check a parts car as to what you need to do that ok . 021433600. or drill the lock out until you can grab the wire , but i think the tail light is easier and cheaper to replace
bekker 7 Report post Posted March 3, 2009 Thanks, I actually have a spare tail light, but what to do then? Do I just reach in and fumble around with the latch mechanism? Cheers

Cheers yes you will have to grab the little rod that goes from the lock to the relay .but maybe that wont help if its the barrol that is the problem , better have a good look at a working one before doing it . i have a parts car if you want to check it ,
