htra024 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2009 Hi all, Been searching awhile however still confuse about these standard speakers size for 2000 E46 Coupe. Any one know exact size please advice to buy as my speakers seem broken in some part. The sound is not very clear however, depend on the tracks quality. Some of the songs are extremely beautiful with full ranges but some are funny sound. Thanks Kelvin
jochen 4 Report post Posted March 6, 2009 I recommend you diagnose the fault fully before simply replacing speakers. What radio is fitted? Do you have amplifier or not? Which one? Standard/DSP/HK? Does the fault occur on all inputs (Radio/Tape/CD/Nav/TV/Aux-In) or just some?

I dunt know any amp in my car however, I believe that it doesnt have amp coz I plug the X300 to the standard power and speakers cable at the back of the unit. As i detailed above, depend on the song, some of them I hear abit funny with the tweeter. The bass seem work perfectly. Moreoever, the issue seem from the front speakers. Thanks Kelvin
hybrid 1044 Report post Posted March 6, 2009 The easiest way to check for blown speakers is run a 15khz to 40hz test tone threw @ -8Db RMS youll quickly hear any fuzzing and can more or less work out what speakers doing it. Give me 10mins ill make one up for you.

hybrid 1044 Report post Posted March 7, 2009 40hz is pretty low fella I guess you mean can it hold 40-500hz longer? I can do 20hz but your talking 1000watt 18inch sub territory here for any real sound to come out of it.

htra024 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2009 Dear, I just wonder where I can buy these speakers? I believe that either 6.25" Front Midbass - 3 prong mount or 2.5" Front Midrange - Shared Housing w/ Tweeter is death after the Bay of Island Easter trip. Thanks alot Kelvin
