Where to get?

A green flashing light?

I've got a new job in a new department and occasionally get called back for Emergencies.

Where can I get a uber cool flashing green light? No one in my department knows nor has had one fitted.

I know that the LTSA specifically allow docs to have flashing lights when on 'urgent' business.

Something like this here but minus the stripes :o

Then I can claim the entire car as a business expense. :D

You'd think that LTSA (or whoever they are this week) would have a list of approved suppliers. Try a safety shop, as they would have suppliers for the orange and purple ones that might do green.

My local emergency doc has red... http://www.ems.org.nz/ ;)

hehe, you could say you needed an emergency pint of Guinness!

Call Hella (09 577-0000).

One of these babies behind the grill should do you nicely. Next to zero power consumption, damn near bulletproof and self flashing (multiple flash modes).

As 3pedals says though, you don't get any further street cred for having one. And may even have some explaining to do at WoF or checkpoint time...

Let me through, I'm a doctor!

edit: And they are Kiwi designed and made....

Ive got a buddy thats a volunteer fireman,

he's got a couple of small orange light bar things in the bull bars of his surf for when he gets called out

He just installed them as a novelty though, no one really moves outta his way or speeds up to the real speed limit through town for him lol

and I thought only doctors nurses and/or midwives were allowed the green ones.

EDIT

From the road code itself:

Doctors, nurses or midwives on urgent business may use a roof-mounted green flashing light. If you see these, you must pull over and allow the vehicle to pass.

I know I don't have additional rights. Just might save me time explaining to a copper why I'm doing 100Ks in an 80 zone. :)
