Bimmer not starting first time all the time

Recommended Posts

Hey just a quickie... my E36 323i seems to have the odd fit some days when starting. By fit I mean it sits there turning over and not igniting, usually she'll crank after a second but if dicks around I have to wait about 10sec before trying again.

Some things I've noticed:

Happens more often in cold mornings & when fuel is under 1/4 remaining.

Haven't come across this before so unsure what to try..

It needs to be scanned first...I would guess at camshaft or crankshaft position sensor

Damn, thanks Glenn. Will need to figure out some funds & get it through your workshop.. needs some R&R I think.

Also how hard is it to check the spark plugs or 'coils' as they say on these things?

Scan first... then do the numbers or work on the car
