1970 Chevy Camaro

Hey all,

you may remember a while ago i had a video of the 502 starting and a few pics of the car.. well now she is all finished. i took it up to the hot rod nationals a couple weekends ago and we got two awards, best street machine in NZ and 3rd best interior in NZ. Also got best day car at the rangiora muscle car show. If anyone wants to come for a look your more than welcome just PM me. My dad and i have our own customising company, BnS customs. we build race cars, show cars and street cars. so if anyone needs some work done also just PM me.

Vehicle details:

Year: 1970

Make / model: Chev Camaro generation two

Engine details:

Model / capacity: 502 ci big block Chev

Origin of engine: factory crate engine (new)

Block internal specifications: cast block, forged steel crankshaft, forged steel rods, forged pistons

Cylinder heads specifications: oval port heads hydraulic roller cam, roller rockers

Intake system: high rise alloy manifold, Holley 950 carb

Fuel system: custom alloy drop tank, high flow electric pump

Ignition system: HEI ignition systems

Exhaust system: Doug’s shorty headers, 3†pipe with X pipe, 3†flow master American thunder mufflers. All HPC coated

Cooling system: Custom Alloy cross flow radiator, twin electric fans, alloy overflow can, alloy trans cooler.

Engine bay: Smoothed firewall. Deloomed, smoothed and painted wheel tubes.

Other engine bay information: Painted body colour, sub frame powered coated, custom polished multi rib pulley set, hi ratio steering box, mossier sump, nolathane mounts everywhere including engine mounts.

Driveline details:

Gearbox make / model: Turbo 200/4R 4speed overdrive Auto. Rebuild to handle 800 hp.

Gearbox internals: valve body modified to allow full throttle up shifts including into overdrive

Differential / axles: new Mosier 12bolt with positrack, Alloy cover, custom width to accept 10†wide wheels

Suspension: front; tubular top and bottom front arms, Air ride airbags with adjustable shocks. Hotchkis front sway bar, electronic Air ride controller

Rear suspension type: Air ride technology 4 link with hotchkis sway bar and Air ride rear bags and adjustable shocks. Electronic air ride controller

Others: solid alloy body mounts, chassis connectors and nolothane bushes.

Brakes:

Front: Willwood 13†disks, 4 pot alloy callipers, performance street pads

Rear: Willwood 12†disks with internal handbrake shoes, alloy callipers, performance street pads.

Smaller performance master-cylinder with adjustable bias

Wheels and Tyres:

Wheel make / model: Boyd Coddington street yard dog

Wheel size - front: 17 x 8

Wheel size - rear: 18 x 10

Tyre brand and width - front: Yokohama 255/40/17

Tyre brand and width - rear: Yokohama 335/30/18

Vehicle exterior:

Modifications: custom flush mounted grill, custom front blinkers using wire mesh and hella lights, front side marker lights removed and replace behind wheel with “V†shaped lights. Custom side mirrors with indicator lights built in. Carbon fibre inserts in door handles, all chrome removed and smoothed from side windows and roof line. Front and rear screens bonded in flush with no chrome surrounds. Custom made rear LED light inserts and blinkers.

Panel & paint: full body off rotisserie paint and panel. All steel including cowl hood. Custom mixed dark brown colour with gold fleck. Double gold fleck stripes. (Brandshatch of Chc did the body work and paint) whole car has been seem welded

Chassis: fully stripped and powered coated, chassis connectors, solid alloy mounts, seem welded.

Interior:

Seats: full custom interior including carbon fibre dash and door inserts. Hot Rod Air air-conditioning unit fitted under dash. Custom light and aircon knobs made at school metal work by Sam. Porsche front seats with electric adjustment and heating. Custom rear bucket seats and surround made by Brent and Sam. Fully dynomatted, including dynalinner, wool carpet, new roof lining with custom interior lights, custom door panels to include front speakers, interior fully covered in black leather including dash top with red stitching door panels, window pillars etc. Red leather seats. Electric windows and central locking fitted. Flaming River waterfall steering wheel. Factory shifter with shift plate modified to suit 4 gears.

Steering wheel & shifter: Flaming River, modified factory shifter

Gauges / meters: Autometer gauges in carbon fibre dash insert.

Other notable interior modifications: (e.g. custom dashboard)

Custom air conditioning vents (eyeball vent in a alloy ring set in carbon fibre)

Audio System / In Car Entertainment:

Sony Xplod headunit, 800watt amp to run 2 sets of rainbow 6.5inch component speakers with tweeters in the front, 2xpioneer competition class 12†subs in a custom made box with complete boxed in trunk covered in leather hiding battery etc etc powered by a 800w s class mono block pioneer amp

Performance:

Engine factory 502 hp, plans to upgrade cam and add Nos once engine run in. Maybe a fuel injection kit with a slim line valley blower too

good to see you got some awards mate.remember talking to you when you were setting it up for the show on the firday nite.i was the guard on the dock way waiting for you to get in off the boat
