moktar 7 Report post Posted May 15, 2009 Hey all, My flatmate is selling his BMW E34 540i Auto. 280kms New warrant M60 engine Car has been fitted with E39 17" wheels (full set of five wheels) the car has the usual extras found on 540i's OBC, Nokia brick! ect.. Has the common fault of the highway shimmy. he has owned the car for one year and it has a VERY good service history. The car is in a overall pretty good condition. The paint on roof, boot lid and bonnet is a bit scratched. I can answer most questions about the car but best speak to the owner on 021-211-3789 (courtnay) Car can be easily seen in Mt albert. $3000 bottom dollar. tsamb 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2009 Hi all, I was the previous owner of this car. As is stated, it has been very well looked after (and it was in good nick when I sold it last year.) The car was in my family from 2000 to 2008 and since 100,000 clicks. Always serviced regularly and looked after. I had the bushes on both front shocks replaced not long ago to try to fix the shimmy with no luck. It may just be a problem with the step up to the E39 wheels, which would be an easy fix. moktar 7 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 Its still just like you left it. except for a few little things that were repaired. Windows , cd player ect.. Pity he has to sell as its a really nice car especially for the money! Had a call over the weekend so we will see where that goes. soarer260@hotmail.com 0 Report post Posted May 25, 2009 Your shimmy would be cause by the thrust arm bushes and ball joints, as well as perhaps the E39 wheels if they dont have hub rings.
